"In The Beginning"
On October 31st, 1956 the First Baptist Church of Farmer City, IL was called into a special business meeting to hear a report by the Associational Missionary, Rev. A.G. Rednour, concerning the needs for a Southern Baptist witness in the community of Le Roy, IL. As missions committee from Le Roy was appointed and with the help of the pastor of First Baptist Church of Farmer City, and the Associational Missionary, The American Legion Hall in Le Roy was rented and the first service of worship was held in Le Roy, November 25th, 1956 with 23 present.
A week of revival was held the following week with the Associational Missionary preaching and Rev. Paul Pinkham serving as mission pastor. The services were well attended and as witness grew, it was decided that there seemed to be enough strength to work as a church rather than a mission.
